After escaping from a forrest fire (aka summer semester at Kennesaw State) and with both of us just ailed by general work craziness we figured it was time to get out of dodge. You really can't beat a short drive down to Grayton, Seaside, and Rosemary beach even with 2 pups farting up the car. What awaits down there is a magical land of turquoise seas, grapefruit mojitos, and all the peel-and-eat shrimp you could want.
We stayed in a condo directly across from the Red Bar, which initially I thought we'd end up at most nights but we were much more content to sit on our balcony and watch the hordes of people pour into the bar each day. We did however, make daily trips down the road to the square at Seaside, these trips usually went a little something like this:
Step 1: Drinks and oysters at Great Southern Cafe
Step 2: Stop by The Melted grilled cheese food truck for an after-oysters-pre meal-snack
Step 3: Grab a seat on the deck at Bud & Alleys for more cocktails, peel-and-eat shrimp (have I mentioned these yet?) and smoked tuna dip.
Definitely hit up the fancy places but PS-just go for drinks and atmosphere.
It was quite the perfect getaway, wouldn't change a thing. Oh and, during shrimp and tuna breaks we did manage to get in the ocean. More pics in the gallery below, if you're interested.
